Encarnacion, Paraguay

A wonderful city right on the water - it couldn't be more ideal when the temperatures are warm.

¿Qué sería del verano sin agua?

Costanera Padre Bolik

It stretches for miles along the shore, a large tarred path decorated with large street lamps, and very busy and sought after on evenings by families and food stalls. ideal for a long walk, in the heat or early in the morning. There is enough to see - the skyline on the other bank, which proudly presents Argentina, has something to offer.

Playa San José

Perfect for water users and those who have had enough of sweating. A fine beach, not super crowded but popular in perfect weather, with warm shallow water and still wonderful views. Some bars offer fruit platters, all kinds of food and decent cocktails if you want to wait in line on the way home. Entry is free, and you can even rent lounge chairs and umbrellas if you want to stay for the sunset or just relax during the day.

Escalinata San Pedro

You would think it's just a few steps, but at least it's beautifully decorated with colorful tiles and patterns! As far as the eye can see, the beautiful tiles glitter proudly in the sunlight and make the stairs appear magnificent. It's worth walking there from the center, not too far and the destination is worth it. The view from the top is amazing; there were hardly any people there when I was there. There was a small convenience store directly above the stairs where you could buy fruit and water. The stairs themselves are highly recommended, an eye-catcher and impressive for the photographers among us.

Costanera Jetty

Especially in the winter, this walkway was beautifully decorated, with lights as far as the eye could see, on every post from front to back. A wonderful place to walk the entire wooden path to the front and look into the water at the top, admire the skyline opposite or just people watch. Definitely another highlight for families; Numerous children were driving around in their little cars or scooters or playing with crazy toys. This light show is beautiful in the evening when it is dark, and it is not a problem to be in this area in the evening.

In General

Regardless, there are other attractions such as a water park, a casino, an old train station and much more to see. In general, however, I can say that I found the nightlife and the atmosphere in the evenings to be unique. If you lived near the water, it was easy and pleasant to walk along the streets to the coast, check out one of the restaurants, or just grab some street food. You see a lot of young people in a party mood, on the way to the next nightclub or with tired eyes and fancy clothes on the way home after an eventful evening. There is a lot going on, the city is alive and radiates energy; Rhythmic music plays from speakers and every bar. It's a great combination of beach and city, and peace during the day with nightlife as soon as it gets dark. The city has left a lasting impression.
